CYBORG IDENTITY AND AVATARS AT DIGITAL MAKER COLLECTIVE

Who is the Digital Maker Collective?
The Digital Maker Collective (DMC) are a voluntary, informal Research & Development (R&D) group made up of University of the Arts London staff, students, alumni who share common goals in exploring digital & emerging technologies in the context of arts practice, education, society and the creative industries.
Founders : Chris Follows and Kristina Thiele

In the Context of the DMC I kicked off an Immersive Web Series made up of Immersive VR events built to share information in a more engaging, distanced and horizontal way.
The first of which is the “Cyborg Identity and Avatars” Talk, in a WebVR space ( Frame.io BETA) where I set a participative presentation centered around Donna Haraway’s ideas and their relevance to virtual avatar identities.

THE EVENT TEAM :

Speaker and VRspace builder/curator : Mathilde Rougier
Introductory text : Kristina Thiele, Chris Follows
Live stream curation : Rice Box Studio
Graphic Identity : Mathilde Rougier
Communication and safeguarding : Chris Follows
